General Information
RULES & REGULATIONS

All entries must be registered with a recognized warmblood, sport horse, pony, or thoroughbred association and provide proof of registration with entry forms.

Ponies must measure 14.2hh or under - measurements will be taken if discrepancies arise.

Handlers may only handle one entry per class.

Entries must be shown in appropriate bridles and tack. See turnout guide for more information.

Crops up to 30" are permitted in the show ring. No dressage whips or long bats.

Management reserves the right to decline any entry of an exhibitor or the participation of any agent, trainer, rider, or handler who has shown an objectionable attitude or behaviour.

ALL ENTRIES MUST MEET VACCINE REQUIREMENTS.
ENTRIES

All entries are due ONE WEEK before the start of the horse show (July 20th, 2025).

Any entries submitted after this date will be subject to a $25 late fee.

All fees must be paid prior to the start of the class. Any entries with outstanding balances at the end of the horse show will be subject to outstanding entry fees, at the discretion of show management.

Entries will be accepted via email (CHBCManagement@gmail.com).

Payments can be made via Cash, Cheque, E-Transfer, or Credit Card (subject to processing fees) and will be subject to 13% HST.

Should a scratch be required after submitting an entry but before July 20th, 2025, individuals will receive a full refund. After July 20th, 2025, administration fees will be processed and class fees will be refunded.
STABLING

Stabling will be available on a limited basis. All stabling is located off-site within a 20 minute drive from the venue. Please contact as soon as possible for all stabling inquiries.

JUDGING

Entries will be judged on quality, substance, soundness, movement, and suitability for a career in the Hunter ring.

Entries will be judged at the walk, the trot, and standing individually for conformation.

Undersaddle classes will be judged at the walk, trot, and canter both directions.
-
Martingales are not permitted in Undersaddle classes.

Meet our judges, Dee Walker & Julia McDonell
Dee Walker
Dee is a highly accomplished rider, trainer, and judge whose career has left an enduring mark on the hunter industry. With decades of experience, she has developed a reputation that is both revered and respected across North America. Dee has ridden and trained countless national champions, guiding horses from their first experiences under saddle to the highest levels of competition with skill, patience, and a deep understanding of the hunter sport. Dee’s involvement at every level makes her insight especially valuable in a setting like the Hunter Breeding Classic.
We are truly honoured to have someone of Dee’s calibre join us. Her wealth of knowledge, proven eye for quality, and unwavering commitment to excellence will undoubtedly elevate this year’s event and offer invaluable perspective to exhibitors and spectators alike.

Julie McDonell
Julie McDonell is an extremely respected figure in the Canadian hunter community, bringing over three decades of expertise to the sport as a competitor. With an accomplished career in the amateur rings, Julie has competed successfully at top venues across North America, earning recognition for her consistency, horsemanship, and deep understanding of the sport.
In addition to her achievements in the show ring, Julie has held her Equestrian Canada Official Recorded Status for the past seven years. During this time, she has been a sought-after judge at many of Ontario’s most prestigious equestrian venues, known for her keen eye, professionalism, and dedication to upholding the highest standards of competition.
Balancing her career as a successful realtor and her role as a mother, Julie remains deeply committed to the development of the hunter discipline in Canada. Her breadth of experience and passion for quality breeding and performance make her an ideal judge for the inaugural Caledon Hunter Breeding Classic!
